Continuing on from 2023's experimentation. Working on backgrounds, line confidence, and playing with different art styles. Rediscovered my love of mecha franchises, particularly Transformers.
More experimenting with rendering and trying to fix up anatomy issues (notably - trying to get characters to properly exist in a 3d plane or interact with each other a tiny bit more). I guess it was a bit of a nostalgic year, as I brought back a lot of old AUs and characters... though I started touching on new ones, particularly with my new interest in DND.
I discovered a pastel pencil brush in CSP and LOVED it, and it inspired a new type of rendering style that got me drawing a lot more confidently. This year was a heavy mix of fan interests as we got new Kirby, Splatoon, and Pokemon.
This year I started trying to take digital art seriously and experimented with rendering. The quality does drop off at the end, but that's due to most of the second half of the year just being sketches on my Samsung rather than properly finished drawings. It did help me get used to using digital mediums for sketching and getting a bit faster with it.
