Arcades

I started this in May but I really didn't have a chance to draw much this year, I was very busy. It was intended to be a showcase of the changes of arcades across the 20th century, but I only got the 1980s done! I may still finish it, but I don't have a good track record of finishing abandoned WIPs, so I wanted to show off what I got done at least.

The girls playing the arcade machines are actually all American Girl doll characters, representing their time periods!

The machine for the 1980s is obviously Mario Bros. The 1950s is Space Gun, and the 1920s is The Erie Digger. Old arcades are really fun to explore. I'd love to do an art piece of an arcade sometime.

Originally Maryellen was going to be playing skee-ball, and Claudie was going to be using a coin operated fortune teller, but they didn't lend themselves to poses as easily. 1980s was going to be Pac-Man, but Courtney is represented with that machine enough!
